Dorothy C. (Zukowski) Thresher 80 of West Suffield wife of Kyle C. Thresher for 58 years passed away Wed. February 3, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital. Dorothy was born the daughter of the late Frank and Valeria (Kierkla) Zukowski and lived in Suffield all of her life. Dorothy was employed at the Aetna insurance Co. for several years and was a short order cook at several area restaurants for many years. Dorothy was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and a member of the Rosary Guild. She was very proud of her Polish heritage. Dorothy was the grand daughter of the first Polish landowner in Suffield, Michael Zukowski. She enjoyed taking long rides and getting lost on the dirt roads in the Berkshire’s. But most of all she loved to spend time with her children and grand children. Besides her husband Kyle she is survived by her children and their spouses Stephen and Helen Thresher of West Suffield, Thomas and Maureen of Wilton, Michael Thresher of West Suffield, Elizabeth and Kent Anson of Exeter NH, Marie and Robert Orem, of Williston VT, a sister Rita Dec of Fairfax VA, and ten grand children, Allison, Elizabeth, Catherine, Thomas, Jason, Michael, William, Jennifer, Kelly, David. She was pre deceased by two sons Paul and Mark, a brother Francis Zukowski. The funeral services will start Sat. February 6, at 9AM from the Heritage Funeral Home 1240 Mountain Rd. West Suffield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church at 10 AM. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery. Friends may call at the Heritage Funeral Home on Fri.
