Obituary for Roland C. Ayotte

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roland C. Ayotte 79 of Granby who died at his home on August 17 2008 surrounded by his loving family. Roland was born in Hamlin, Maine on September 21 1928. He was the son of the late Fred and Sadie ( Paradis ) Ayotte. Before moving to Connecticut in 1963 with his family, Roland was a Maine Potato shipper for all of Aroostook County for many years. Roland owned a dry cleaning business in Van Buren ME. Roland sold the business in Maine and moved his family to Connecticut. He worked in construction and founded the Ayotte Brothers Construction Co. In 1969 and worked with his sons and daughter throughout his life. He was the past President and retired from Ayotte Brothers in 1993 but never left the company until March 18th 2008. His company was his life. Mr. Ayotte was a communicant of the Our Lady of the Lake Church in Southwick, MA. And a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was predeceased by his first wife Irma ( Cormier ) Ayotte on May 24 1989. He is survived by his current wife Ellen ( Dallis ) Ayotte, a daughter Sandra and her husband Peter MacDowell of West Suffield, three sons Steve and his wife Betty Ayotte of West Suffield, Lester and his wife Andrea Ayotte of Granby, Michael Ayotte of Windsor Locks, Two sisters Marcella Ayotte of Summerfield FL, Muriel Thibedeau of The Villagers FL as well as Ellen”s two sons Joe Dallis of Windsor Locks, John Dallis and his wife Paula of FL, a daughter Jeanne and her husband David Bradley of Moodus, Along with grand children Nichole Bull of N. Granby, Jamie Ayotte of N. Granby, Shannon Stauffer of Suffield, Morgan MacDowell of W. Suffield, Danielle Ayotte of Granby, Renee Ayotte of Granby, Justin Ayotte of Granby, Shelby Ayotte of N. Granby, Dylan Ayotte, of N. Granby, Dan Bradley of Moodus, Valerie Pappas of Vero Beach FL, his great grand children Lenny Bull IV of N. Granby, Stephen Bull of N. Granby, Samantha Bull of N. Granby Sadie Stauffer of Suffield. And many nieces and nephews. Roland was a devoted parent and grandparent. He loved his family and always wanted them to work together and live close to each other. Roland was the core of the Ayotte Family and will be deeply missed by everyone. The Ayotte family would like to take this opportunity to thank the people that made Roland's last days more comfortable, his loving caretaker Oley, his hospice nurses Colleen & Diane. The funeral services will be Fri. August 22, at 10 AM at the Our Lady of the Lake Church. 224 Sheep Pasture Rd. Southwick, MA. Friends may call at the Heritage Funeral Home 1240 Mountain Rd.
