Obituary for Jerrold P. "Jerry" Camp

Jerrold ‘Jerry’ P. Camp, 80, of West Hartford husband of the late Clemence (Fountain) Camp, and sweetheart for over 16 years to Carole Bazyk of Suffield, passed away on January 28, 2018.

Born in Meridan, on May 28, 1937 son of the late Jerrold Camp and Corinne (Caron) Camp-Cooper.

Jerrold was a devoted man and had many strong interest throughout his life. Among them was feeling his best driving a fast sports car, competing in bowling championships and belonging last to Bowl-O-Rama of Newington with his closest friends and comrades. Jerrold had a love for growing red dahlias, the perfect red tomatoes and maintaining a manicured lawn. Devotion, care and compassion was the inner self of the man we knew and loved. Most early weekdays, Jerrold attended Mass at St. Peter Claver Church in West Hartford.

He dreamed as a boy of serving in the U.S. Navy, seeing men in uniform at train stations returning home from World War II. Jerrold enlisted and traveled the world on the U.S.S. Shangri-La. Returning he took employment as a printer and retired from the firm, where he quickly secured a position with American Airlines where he met his sweetheart, Carole Bazyk of Suffield remaining together, traveling and enjoying life until his passing.

He was predeceased by his parents Jerrold Camp and Corinne (Caron) Camp-Cooper, of Meridan; and his late wife Clemence (Fountain) Camp, of Quebec, Canada.
