Obituary for Anna Prekop-Luczak (Atkocaitis)

Anna Prekop-Luczak, 98, entered into eternal rest on the wings of the angels on April 7, 2012. Anna was born on Dec. 23, 1913, in Westfield, MA. She graduated from Westfield High School and worked at the Old Colony Envelope Co. and at Columbia Bicycles in Westfield, MA.
After her marriage to Paul F. Prekop in 1939, she moved to West Suffield, Ct. Where she resided for 67 years. When her children were grown, she became a home health aide, which she enjoyed very much.
In 2003, she moved to The American Inn in Southwick, MA. for 9 years. She resided at MeadowBrook of Granby at the time of her passing.
Anna was an avid gardener, loved crossword puzzles, bingo, Macramé, sewing, knitting, crocheting, reading, fabric painting, and summer vacations at the ocean. She loved to play cards and board games, and enjoyed watching tennis matches. Movies, travel and horse shows were her other favorite activities. She won many awards in quilting and crocheted items at various fairs and the Big E. Some of her work was displayed in historical houses in Suffield, Ct. She especially liked spending time with her children and grandchildren. Getting together with friends was always something she looked forward to.
She also loved her many dogs and cats over the years, as pets were always part of her life. Music of many varieties was also something she enjoyed, with Frank Sinatra, Elvis and Dean Martin being her favorites. She looked at life as something to be enjoyed and firmly believed in Live-Laugh-Love as her motto.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Suffield, Ct.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Savoy-Carlson of Greely, CO., Susan Griffin and husband James of West Suffield, Ct., and Frannie Page and husband Larry of Berne, NY., three grandchildren, Massi Coe and his wife Jillian, of Marblehead, Ma., Shane Coe of Tampa, FL., and Lisa LaForge of Palo Alto, Ca. She also leaves two great grandchildren Brayden and Addison Coe of Tampa, FL. and a grand-nephew and niece, Paul Pielock, of Tampa, FL and Cindy Brissett of Greenfield, Ma. and two nieces Marion Powell, and Nancy Marks a nephew Robert Hall as well as other cousins.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Paul F. Prekop in 1965, and by Walter J. Luczak in 1994.
She was also predeceased by three sisters, Alice, Dominica, and Antoinette, and by two brothers, Frank and William and nieces Florence Pielock.
Funeral Services will be from the Heritage Funeral Home 1240 Mountain Road, West Suffield, CT. at 9am on Thursday April 12, with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Southwick, Ma. at 10 AM. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Poquonock, Ct. Friends may call to the Heritage Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 11, from 5-7pm.
