Myrth Lynn ( Gochnauer ) Thompson 85 of Suffield, CT Went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday September 20, 2009. Myrth was born in Appleton, WI to the late Benjamin Barrett Gochnauer and Esther Myrth ( Christensen ) Gochnauer and lived in Suffield the last 32 years. Myrth attended Stout College and received her Bachelor of Science degree and then attended The Pennsylvania State University in State College, PA where she received a Master of Science degree. At Penn State she met and then married her husband Richard (Dick) Joseph Thompson on July 2, 1949 and he preceded her in death in January of 1981.Myrth is survived by her children Richard Barrett Thompson of Nevada MO, Jeffry Mark Thompson, of Milpitas CA, Kevin Scott Thompson and his wife Christine of Holliston MA, and Stacy Lynn Bond and her husband Tim of Nevada MO. Grandchildren Kyle Richard Bond of Carroll IA, Juliana Myrth Williams and husband Chris of Newport Beach CA, Alexander Scott Thompson of Windsor, CT Leah Christine Maloney Thompson of Holliston MA, and Callen Michael Thompson of Holliston MA. Myrth was a member of the PEO Sisterhood for almost 50 years. She was an active member of the Suffield Woman's Club also holding several leadership positions including president. She was a member of the Antiquarian and Landmark Society and served as a docent at the Hatheway House. She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Congregational in Suffield. A memorial funeral service will be Sat. September 26, at 9:30 AM at the First Church of Christ, Congregational 81 High St. Suffield. Burial will be private.
