Obituary for Barbara Tanguay (Miron)

Barbara  Tanguay  (Miron)
Barbara (Miron) Tanguay of Suffield, beloved wife of Raymond Tanguay, and daughter of the late Charles and Edith Miron, passed away August 23, 2018 at age 87. As a child, Barbara was known as the, "Shirley Temple of Hartford" and later became the head majorette of Hartford High, Class of 49. A Hartt School of Music graduate, Barbara taught music in Suffield along with her husband, sang in the church choir, directed local musicals and ran the Visiting Artists Program for over 25 years, which brought live art/music/dance/drama into the schools and town, including the Veterans' concerts. In addition to world travel, Barbara enjoyed her "RV" time, spending winters in the Florida Keys with her husband and friends.

In addition to her husband Ray, of 64 years, she leaves a daughter, Celeste Cannon and husband Lewis of West Suffield; a son, Lee and wife Lori of East Hartland; four grandchildren, Christine, Stephen, Kyle and Logan, all of whom she adored and many nieces and nephews.

Per Barbara's request, there will be no calling hours and the service will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the McAlister 5th grade Chorus. Checks may be made to the Suffield Public Schools, c/o Central Office, 350 Mountain Road, Suffield, CT 06078 designating 5th grade chorus.
