Condolence From: Joyce Fisher Darson
Condolence: My thoughts and prayers to your family. Mr. Hamel was a great friend and neighbor to my folks at Maybury Rd.,and was always there for Mom after Dad died in 2005. Then they ended up as neighbors again at Suffield by the River. Even as an adult, I could never quite make myself call him Bob, much to his amusement! A wonderful gentleman with sparkling eyes and always had a kind word, who led an inspirational life. Love to all,
Joyce (Fisher) Darson.

Condolence: Bob was my parents' neighbor for many many years. Always a gentleman and a great friend. Each morning Bob would drop off the paper at my Mon's front door and would swap for the paper she had already read. Then, after moving to assisted living, Mom would see Bob at the "Tired Men's Club" meetings at Suffield by the River. Low and behold Bob and Evie moved in just down the hall from Mom and it was close to old times. Bob's smile and welcome hugs will always be remembered. I wish you all peace.

Condolence: Bob Hamel was I think one of my very first customers when I started fixing computers in town in the late 1990s, back when I charged only $30 for an in-home visit, and gave him a special $20 rate as an early adopter of my services. I kept that rate with him for nearly 20 years though he'd always offer to pay more. He was quite adept at his computer use right up through the last time I visited him in 2017. He had a method to accessing his records online, and he'd always call the first browser screen he'd come to as his "home base." Now, Bob will be at his new home base, and missed by many, especially me. - Dan
