Obituary for Anna Rygielski Osowiecki

Anna Rygielski  Osowiecki
Anna (Rygielski) Osowiecki, 97, of West Suffield, wife of the late Vincent Osowiecki passed away on April 27, 2016 with her family by her side. She was born in Chicopee, MA on June 21, 1919, daughter of the late Martin and Sally (Saj) Rygielski and lived in Suffield most of her life.


Anna was employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft as the first female Engine Tester during WWII while her husband was serving in the Army in the European Theater.


Anna was the bookkeeper and assistant for her husband’s companies, all while raising 4 children. Anna passionately cooked, canned, and froze delicious homemade foods for her family. She was a communicant of St. Joseph church, Suffield.


Anna is survived by her children Robert and his wife Diane Osowiecki of Tenn., Diane and her husband Richard Potemski of Enfield and Nancy Osowiecki of Granby; a God-Child Martin and his wife Patricia Sienko of Windsor; her God-Child Barbara and her husband Ronald Giordano of Feeding Hills; seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Anna was predeceased by her husband Vincent; a son David Osowiecki; and two sisters.


The Funeral Services will be Tuesday, May 2, at 9:00AM from the Heritage Funeral Home 1240 Mountain Road, West Suffield with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church at 10:00AM. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Suffield. Friends and family may visit Monday, May 1 from 4:30-7:30 PM at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Suffield Emergency Aid: 450 South Street, Suffield, 06078; or a charity of the donor’s choice.
