Dorothy (Krayeski) Gogulski, 82, beloved wife of 59 years to the late Henry “Dutch” Gogulski, passed away with family at her side Monday, Dec. 29, 2014.

She was born in West Suffield on Feb. 13, 1932, daughter of the late Albin and Mary (Falkowski Beneski) Krajewski. From the age of 13 she was raised by her sister Fran and brother-in-law, Emil, until her marriage at the age of 19. She was a graduate of Suffield High School (SHS), Class of 1949, where she was a cheerleader, and active participant in class reunions.

She worked at SHS as an administrative assistant for many years, and was a proud member of the Suffield Polish Heritage Society. She enjoyed family parties, baseball, skiing, watching UCONN basketball, camping, dancing, bowling, swimming and tag sales.

She easily showed her love of family and friends. Her life was marked by an unending spirit that displayed her positive outlook on life, compassion, generosity and sense of humor. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.


She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ellen “Meg” Schon; grandsons, Wilhelm “Greg” Schon and Nicholas Schon; her sisters, Frances Papuga and Alfreda Beneski; and many loving nieces and nephews. Dotty was predeceased by her son, William John “Billy” Gogulski; sisters, Irene Zera, Theresa Skronski, and Catherine Rykoski; and brothers, Steve Beneski, Chancey Beneski, and Donald Krajewski, as well as all of Henry’s brothers and sisters from the Gogulski family.

Calling hours will be Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 1240 Mountain Road, W. Suffield, CT.

The Funeral Services will be at 9 a.m. from The Heritage Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian burial on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 140 Main Street, Suffield, CT. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Suffield, CT.
