Clara V. (Zukowski) Lawson, 80, of West Suffield, wife of the late Russell L. Lawson, died Thursday May 25, 2006 at a local nursing home. She was born in New Britain, the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Wieczorck) Zukowski and lived in Oregon, Germany, Florida, Massachusetts and then moved back to Suffield to live on the same street where she was raised. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and was a representative for Avon Products for over 40 years, where she achieved placement in the Avon Honor Society and President’s Club, thanks to the longtime support of her many loyal friends and customers.

She is survived by two daughters and their husbands; Gail M. and Joseph Clough of Miami Beach, FL, Lois D. and Willis Schultz of Windsor Locks, CT, two sons and their wives, Donald R. and Lisa Lawson of Northampton, MA, David A. and Marie Lawson fo Northford, CT, a brother Donald Zukowski of West Suffield, two sisters, Florence Miarecki of West Suffield and Harriet Duncan of Gardendale AL, three grandchildren, Kyle Russell, Erik Michael and Brian Roy and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Carl Zukowski.

The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Francis Health Care Center and Cancer Center as well as The Suffield House, where her niece Darlene Martin looked after her, for all the wonderful care that Clara received. A special thanks goes out to Dr. Michael Teiger, who was with Clara from the beginning and was a great source of support throughout her illness.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 31 at 9:99 AM from the Heritage Funeral Home at 1240 Mountain Road, West Suffield with a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the Heritage Funeral Home Tuesday, May 30 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
