Obituary for Arthur L Fisher

Arthur L Fisher of Suffield CT and Melbourne FL, husband for 53 years to Judith (Hart) Fisher died Friday, December 9, 2005 at a local nursing home with his family by his side. He was born in East Orange NJ, the son of the late Earl and Gladys (Mader) Fisher and lived iin Suffield for many years. Arthur attended Scott High School and received a BS in Chemical Engineering and his Masters in Natural Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Art was a WWII veteran serving in the Navy. He was employed as a Chemical Engineer for Monsanto, Dewey Chemical and G.E. Art taught Math and Science in the Suffield school system for the last 20 years. He was a member of the Community Chapel of Melbourne FL, the N.C.R.C.C., the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity, and he was a Kentucky Colonel. Arthur's passion was signing, traveling, radio controlled airplanes, woodworking and anything electronic. But above all he loved his family.
Besides his wife Judith, he is survived by his children and their spouses: Joyce and Glenn Darson of Avon, Jim and Sharon Fisher of Tucson AZ, Janet and Ron Forte of Middlefield; three brothers: Bud Fisher of Buena Park CA, Len Fisher of Colrain MA, Jim Fisher of York PA; three sisters: Rosalie Bostrom of New Harbor ME, Nancy Hughes of Oakham MA, Shirley Assantes of Simsbury; seven grandchildren: Erin, Lee, Kristen, Alan, Sarah, Aaron and Ryan. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Betty Layne.
The funeral services will be MoOnday, December 12, 2005 at 5:00 PM at the Heritage Funeral Home, 1240 Mountain Road, West Suffield. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.
