Rowena (Samsel) Szoka, 85, of Suffield, beloved wife of Stanley Szoka, died peacefully at home, Sunday, January 22, 2017. Born in Suffield, on April 18, 1931, daughter of the late Frank and Amelia (Kreczko) Samsel and lived in Suffield all her life as a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. Rowena was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Suffield.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Stanley C. Szoka; two daughters Debra S. Krut and Gail Szoka; two grandchildren Sally O’Sullivan and her husband Patrick, and Kevin Krut and his wife Michelle; and four great grandchildren, Makayla Grace, Shaughn Patrick, Rowena Catherine, and Charles Raymond; and two sisters Sally Szoka and Ann Nai.

Calling Hours will be on Wednesday, January 25, from 9:30-10:30AM at the Heritage Funeral Home, 1240 Mountain Road, West Suffield, followed by A Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, South Main Street, Suffield; burial will follow in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Enfield.
