Albino J. Zaffetti, 85, of Suffield passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2016. He was born in Compovico, Province of Sondrio, Italy. He was a proud US Army Veteran who served in the Korean War. After the war, he worked as a mason bricklayer for over 35 years and was a Life Member of the International Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local 1 Connecticut. During his career, he worked on many construction projects throughout Connecticut.
He is reunited with his daughter, Rosemary Frechette, who preceded him. He leaves his loving wife, Rita, his brother, Dennis, and sisters, Luciana and Carmen, his three sons and their wives, Robert and Deborah, Walter and Linda, and Marc and Sharon. He also leaves his 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and other family here and in Italy, where he visited this past summer. Besides being an avid gardener, he especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren whom he adored very much.
Funeral services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society or the Diabetes Association. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Suffield House for the care and comfort they provided.
