Lorraine (Kulas) Rapacki, 85, of Suffield, wife of the late Francis D. Rapacki, died peacefully surrounded by family on October 9, 2015 in Suffield. Born in Springfield, daughter of the late Bruno and Jeanette (Grzelak) Kulas, she resided in Suffield all her life. She was a graduate of Suffield High School, class of 1949, attended Hillyer College in Hartford and Asnuntuck Community College in Enfield. Lorraine was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, Suffield. She was employed by Hamilton Standard, Kaman Aircraft, retiring from Combustion Engineering in 1985. She was a member and treasurer of the Suffield Veterans Memorial Committee and an active member of the Suffield Polish Heritage Society, Connecticut Genealogical Society and the Polish Genealogical Society of Connecticut and the Northeast, New Britain, CT. Embracing computer technology, she volunteered her time and skills to assist with several charitable organizations. She took pleasure in knitting, crocheting, sewing and making crafts. She also enjoyed playing golf and artistic dance roller­skating.

She is survived by her three children, Ronald F. Rapacki of Ellington, James P. Rapacki and his wife Patricia of Enfield, Sarajane R. Adams and her husband Arthur, of Granville, MA. She was a devoted grandmother to her five grandchildren, Christopher P. Rapacki and his wife Allyson, Erin B. Rapacki, Kathryn J. Rapacki, Sydney J. Adams, Hillary L. Adams; and great­grandson Sebastian J. Rapacki. She is also survived by her two brothers, Peter J. Kulas and wife Frances of Suffield, Paul A. Kulas and wife Jean of Suffield.

The Funeral Services will be at The Heritage Funeral Home, 1240 Mountain Road West Suffield, on Saturday, October 17 at 10AM. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, October 16, from 4­-7PM and on Saturday from 9­-10AM prior to the funeral service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
