Obituary for William B. "Billy" Kuras

William B. "Billy"  Kuras
William Kuras, was born on November 2, 1944, Born in Hartford, son of the late William B. Kuras and Julia (Sklodowski) Kuras VonRadear.
He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and gardener who faithfully served his town, for 37 years, on the Suffield Police Department. He wore many hats, as a Patrolman, Detective, Sergeant, Acting/Interim Chief, and retired as a Lieutenant.
He leaves behind his lovely wife of 39 years, Diane J. Phillips Kuras; his two daughters, Alexandra and Kimberly Kuras; a sister, Judi Ann Kuras; half brother, Anthony VonRadear; sister-in-law, Barbara Faraday; brother-in-laws David Faraday and John A. Phillips Jr.; and beloved dog Coco Kuras.
We are forever grateful for the unrelenting, loving, compassionate care of Dr. Walter Kope, Dr. Arthur Landry Jr., Dr. Aneesh Tolat, Dr. Michael Moustakakis, Dr. Richard Stone, Dr. Daniel Gerardi, Dr. Richard Soucier, Christine Olmstead, and his team at St. Francis Hospital, that helped him stick around.
The Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, September 3 at 8AM from the Heritage Funeral Home 1240 Mountain Road, West Suffield, CT with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9AM at Sacred Heart Church, 1065 Springfield Street, Feeding Hills, MA 01030. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hill St. Suffield with full military honors. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 2, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, please donate blood to the Red Cross in Billy’s Memory.
