Condolences

Condolence From: James F, Szepanski
Condolence: God has spoken!!

He has chosen Mitchell Gogulski to join him in Heaven. I met Mitchell in 1963 when I was dating his sister Shirley. (My wife of 45 years.) He was a young man growing up to be a man. Through our relationship we had to mourn the lost of his brother, mother and father. He endured the lost and moved forward with his life to blossom and grow.

I was only given the opportunity to know him as a young man, but soon after his father's death relationships failed and the family grew apart. I don't know why and will never know.

All left behind lost so much - never to be recovered or understood. His sister and two brothers have lost even more. Were they though of, missed, forgotten, or maybe loved over the years. I don't know.

When the old die we lose part of the past. When the young die we lose the future. He will be remembered by me as a fine man, a brother-in-law,husband and father.

Relationships change over the years and need to be understood, not criticized and not second guessed. May Mitchell rest in peace and be remembered.

Condolence From: Mark Gogulski
Condolence: Mitchell was a great guy to know and better to have as a cousin. Hearing about his passing hurt me deeply as I remembered times spent with him; on the farm, wondering when he was getting back from the Army, restoring that old pick-up and him teaching me to turn a wrench. I'll never forget him taking me to Riverside Park to see the races or the time he introduced me to my first two quarts of Budwiser.

I would bump into him from time to time and it was like I had just seen him the day before, even after moving to Florida.

Back in June of '09 I sent him my father's polka collection that I new he wanted. I also sent him a bunch of pictures of the family that my father had taken over the years. A couple of weeks later I got a letter from Mitch, this is what he had to say: " The pictures are priceless, I never before knew the good times they had all throughout their lives. Now I can relax knowing now they all lead their last years with enjoyment and relaxing."

Mitchell set a great example for me growing up and I am so relieved that sending him those pictures meant that much to him. That he could now relax and not worry that his parents worked so hard while raising a family and didn't get to enjoy themselves! The ultimate example of a selfless person, Mitchell will be missed more than you can imagine.

See you on the other side, Mitch.
