Marie Hinson, 93, of Suffield, wife of the late George Hinson, died peacefully Friday November 4, 2011 at a local nursing home. She was born in York, AL the daughter of the late Henry and Phronia (Brown) Holder and lived in Windsor Locks for 35 years, and the last 10 years in Suffield. She was employed at General Cigar Co. as a timekeeper for many years and retired from Connecticut General Ins. Co. after 20 years of service. Marie enjoyed many hours of gardening and needlework. She is survived by a daughter, Nan Hinson Clark of Richmond, VA; a brother Clarence Holder of Valdosta, GA; six grandchildren, Lisa Rapp Phillips and her husband John of West Suffield, Shelly Rapp of Whitinsville, MA, Wendy Rapp Devine and Scott Bergeron of Granville, MA, Wayne and his wife Barbara Clark of Driftwood, TX, Chris and his wife Iris Clark of Worcester, MA, and Melissa (Clark) and her husband Rich Denis of Red Rock, TX, 10 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia (Hinson) (Rapp) Croxford, four brothers and a sister. Funeral Ser vices will be Sunday November 13, 2011 at 12 noon at The Heritage Funeral Home 1240 Mountain Road, West Suffield, CT. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11-12 prior to the services. Burial will be in West Suffield Cemetery.
